BIS frames stablecoins as a money-design and sovereignty question
BIS General Manager Pablo Hernandez de Cos used an April speech to separate stablecoins' technological promise from questions of singleness, convertibility, and monetary sovereignty.
The speech gives payment teams a central-bank lens for evaluating private stablecoin rails alongside tokenized deposits and public money.
